Weight Gain, Sleepy Head, Watermelon Belly... and My Husband Does Whatever I Want

HELLOOOO NOVEMBER! I'm so terrible with posting on here; it's literally been a month since I updated the blog and SO MUCH has happened since!! I believe I was 19 weeks with my last post. Now, officially 23 weeks, I am 7 pounds heavier, quite a bit rounder, feeling baby move ALL the time, and oh yeah- another year older. =)

First off, of course the BIG NEWS everyone already knows... I'm having a GIRL! Baby Reese it will be, just as people were starting to convince me I was having a boy. I think now as I get farther along, I look more like I'm carrying a girl (because everyone knows those old wives tales are TRUE!) Ha- anyway, I'm so excited that we found out (thanks, honey!) and I just know it was the right decision. Just when I thought I couldn't love my husband any more that I already do, he has become so involved and attached to this little person now that we know who she is. He's even reading about pregnancy and how to bond with baby when she's born since I checked out a book for "new dads" at the library. He's going to be such a great daddy! It makes my heart literally melt. It's also so nice, because as he and I talk about parenthood we just can't wait for her to be here. Everyone says "Take a trip! Enjoy life as you know it now, because it will never be the same!" and other BS. We have never been parents before, but we completely disagree. There is no feeling in the world than the feeling that you want everything so bad-- for someone else. I like to shop (surprise!) but when I think of something SHE needs or I think of how we need to save for HER arrival, I push all my selfish tendencies to the side. John feels the same way. He can't wait to have a little princess around to spoil and take care of and just love. We are so blessed! =)

A few other things have been happening with my body (as expected) as well. I'm SOOOOOO TIIIIIRED! Someone get me a pillow right now. Oh wait, I'm working. and this growing belly (that seems to be in the shape of a watermelon to me) has pushed my hips, ribs, pubic bone, and everything attached OUT... so pretty much on a daily basis I feel like I'm going to drop Reese right out of you-know-where. TMI? But feeling her move all the time is so fun (yes, even at 2 a.m,) I'll just lay there and feel her prod around in every area of my abdomen (lower right quadrant is her favorite), and I'll just giggle to myself wondering what she's playing with and how she's entertaining herself. We ordered some books on Amazon for her and I can't wait for them to arrive in a few days so we can start reading stories to her. I love to sing to her and rub my belly to let her know I'm there. She usually pokes back in response. I could go on and on. It's just such an amazing miracle!

Finally, I had a fetal echocardiogram and a maternal echocardiogram last week. Baby's heart looks perfectly healthy! Thank you, Jesus! Of course she sat there the entire time with her hands in her mouth... my little thumbsucker! On top of that, I was given the green light by the cardiologist to have a vaginal delivery. I'll be monitored by another cardiologist until I give birth, along with 2 OBGYNs, so I'm pretty happy that I have a team of support to get me through! =)

Now, here are some photos of what we've been up to... Reese lives quite the jet-setter life.

My first Colts/Browns game! Uh oh... a house divided!
Oh, and this was Mommy's 28th birthday! Thank you, Daddy!

20 weeks, 4 days. Juuuust popping out to say hi!

BAM! 22 weeks, 2 days. I'm hurting Mommy's insides with my rapid growth.
                                                       BOO! Happy Halloween!

Reese Cup, now that I know WHO you are, I'm so excited to get to know you more before you come! Keep growing strong; Daddy and I love you very very much! xoxo
